About Us
Believe in the Invisible is a registered non-profit organization led by 2 persons with invisible disabilities, that advocates for people with invisible disabilities and their communities, through storytelling. Invisible disabilities affect millions globally, yet they remain largely misunderstood. Our platform is dedicated to broadening the definition of disability and sensitizing various sectors of society around invisible disabilities.
We aim to achieve this by using storytelling through graphic novellas and art-driven narratives, raising awareness and dispelling myths surrounding invisible disabilities. Our immersive Experience Zones and interactive workshops provide a unique opportunity for participants to gain firsthand insight into the daily challenges faced by individuals with invisible conditions. Additionally, we also develop IEC materials to challenge misconceptions and promote a deeper understanding of the intersectional realities of invisible disabilities.
Our Mission
At Believe in the Invisible, we want to redefine the narrative around invisible disabilities by empowering people through advocacy, storytelling, media and art. Believe in the Invisible aims to contribute in the making of an inclusive society by amplifying diverse voices, challenging stereotypes, and addressing the intersectional experiences of those living with invisible conditions.

Our Journey
In 2022, “Believe in the Invisible” was a brief yet impactful one-week campaign that aimed to amplify the voices and experiences of people with invisible disabilities. By inviting personal stories, the campaign garnered a remarkable response, shedding light on the often-overlooked challenges faced by this community.
Building on this momentum, a subsequent campaign titled “Caring is Believing” was launched in 2023. This extended initiative continued to spotlight narratives from diverse communities affected by invisible disabilities, fostering empathy, understanding, and support.
Together, these campaigns served as catalysts for greater awareness and compassion towards individuals navigating unseen disabilities in society. The success of these two campaigns is what transformed “Believe in the Invisible” into a movement and a platform for people to share their stories.
Further solidifying their credibility, “Believe in the Invisible” also garnered support from several notable figures. Among them are Mr. Praveen P. Ambashta, Deputy Chief Commissioner for PWD at the Chief Commissioner’s office, Delhi and Mr. Guruprasad Pawaskar, the Disability Commissioner of Goa, whose endorsement highlights the campaign’s significance and impact within the disability advocacy community. Additionally, Dr. T. Sumathy, a respected Member of Parliament, has lent her support, further emphasizing the initiative’s importance on a national level. These endorsements from prominent figures in both governmental and legislative positions reinforce the relevance and effectiveness in raising awareness and advocating for the rights of people with invisible disabilities. Their backing not only enhances the movement’s visibility but also validates its mission to create a more inclusive and understanding society.
